Golden Citrus Scholars

The Golden Citrus Scholar Tour of Excellence (TEA) is a day-long bus tour featuring Citrus County School District dignitaries, Citrus County Education Foundation board members, and community donors as they celebrate our best and brightest graduating seniors. Throughout the day, stops are made at each nominee’s home to recognize and honor their outstanding achievements.

Each high school selects seven seniors, for a total of 21 nominees across Citrus County. A selection committee carefully reviews each nominee based on academic achievement, personal accomplishments, and service to their school and community.

From these nominees, category winners are selected, along with the overall Golden Citrus Scholar Hall of Fame winner. In addition, the Golden Heart Award is presented to a student who has faced significant adversity and, despite those challenges, has demonstrated exceptional resilience, perseverance, and success.
